We wanted to contribute and do our part to raise money for the Red Cross foundation’s effort to help those in need who were left devastated by this horrific event.

Shredder Dresses/Tanks – Review

•November 22, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Mic check, 1, 2, 3… Are you ready to rock? Well then get ready for some rocktastic goodness with the Shredder tanks and dresses from the Plastik!

For many rock ‘n’ roll is an integral part of life. It inspires them to do some kickass things both in real life and virtual life. It can make us sing along when we’re happy or cheer us up when we’re down. Rock also inspires us to create, if we are in fact creators. In this case, it has inspired the Plastik to design something spectacular once again. Today I am featuring the Shredder tank tops and dresses, and as you can see they are nothing short of amazing. It always surprises me when I see these designs because with SL’s horrible avatar UVs it seems nearly impossible to create clothes that actually look like clothes (and yes, I am an accomplished texture artist/designer myself).

Many times I’ve been in clubs or “dance halls” in SL and of the many, there are very few rock/metal type clubs around. Usually when you go to these clubs you find either goth/vampires or your typical blingtard guys and gals. Both look somewhat out of place with their outlandish clothing and they never seem to capture the true feeling of the music through their fashion. Aikea Rieko seeks to change this by offering us the Shredder line of tops and minis, presented in a beautiful array of colors and intricate fabric designs. They are a unique addition to the scene and bring back some of the true flair to the music connoisseurs hovering around that good old rock and roll.

This time you are presented with two distinct choices which allow for many different ways to stun the folks around you. With the minis, and the addition of some high heels or laced stiletto boots you are exactly what the crowd is hoping to see at that big rock concert or VIP after party. Hanging with the band has never been sexier when in the company of a Shredder-clad lady. Alternatively the tanks are perfectly acceptable for smaller indie venues or drinks at a bar where a new band just happens to be playing. Either way, the choice is yours and whatever choice you make will be the right one when you pull on the Shredder…

My favorite part about the Shredder set is the front design that goes from the breast line all the way down to the thighs. The allure of the flesh between the threads is something that will make any guy freeze, think about his life and why you should be a part of it. Rest assured, while wearing the Shredder tanks or minis you are not required to settle for less. Try one on for size and see how much attention you’ll find yourself getting!

Aquamer Skins – Review

•November 14, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Under the sea and above the land comes a review about some fish-like women. Throw down a towel, plant an umbrella and relax by the beach as I go over the Aquamer female skins!

When we think of fish we often think of ugly, scaly beasts that smell funny. We also think of the sea and mermaids. Consider this: you are a fish, and a woman, and not a mermaid. You can breathe air or water, bathe in the sun or swim in the sea. You are an Aquamer, the elf of the seas! This time around our heroine, Aikea Rieko, shows us that even fish-people can be beautiful and unique snowflakes. Graceful to the core, our friendly neighborhood mer-person comes to us in full detail, ready to be worn around the house, the beach or in the water!

aquamer

It is not often that we see an offering like this as SL content creators have a tendency to stray away from themed or fantasy skins. It is almost as if they are afraid to test new waters, but as we can see here the Plastik has once again broken the barriers on acceptable avatar beautification and a rebirth for those who would call themselves a fish loving sort of folk. You don’t have to love fish, or mermaids, or even know what the heck an Aquamer is to enjoy this skin though as it is for anyone looking for that often forgotten mythical beauty, something I feel we need a lot more of.

Based on the ‘Capucine’s Aquamer Race’ mod for TES IV: Oblivion, made by the great Capucine, these skins feature the full details in the way only the Plastik can recapture. The flesh itself is so well-detailed that you are certain to be uncertain if you’re gazing at a real Aquamer or a toon, and that is exactly the way it should be. The scales are perfectly placed to bring in the fishy effect and are seen in all the right spots. You will also notice that there are fish-like markings all along the body and they are very much akin to that of a real fish, or commonly seen on their mythical cousins the mermaids.

The best part about these skins is that they still capture that unique Plastik flame that sets our hearts and minds on fire. The beauty here is pure bliss when it comes to skins and every part of it is executed in such a way that it stays with you as a token for merely gazing upon it.

The Aquamer skins are featured in various colors and styles and can be purchased by themselves or in fat packs. The male versions will be out soon as well so look for my sub-review on them in the near future!

Vaelian Skins – Review

•November 14, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Finding the perfect skin for you in Second Life can be a daunting task and can end up being a failure, but if at first you don’t succeed try, try a Vaelian. Today I will discuss the Vaelian male skins and why they are the absolute must-have for guys around the grid.

Never before has the beauty of elves been captured so perfectly in a skin as with Vaelian. Aikea Rieko provides us this time with her first offering to males in the form of skins and has broken the ice with potential male customers by creating the perfect combination of male sensuality and masculinity. Those two words usually don’t come together in the same sentence but somehow, our lovely proprietor has managed to merge the two. Typically, I myself would stray away from anything elven in nature however I was struck so deeply by these skins that I had to have them all. It seems that this offering is a first for the Plastik, but a first for me as well. Of my 5 years in Second Life I have never been able to find a skin that would allow me to finally look the way I wanted, and finally I can.

Vaelian Elven Tones

As a vampire, I find Vaelian to suit my needs as well as the needs of my elf and demon side. These skins are made so well that I can literally use them for just about any theme I want and never get bored. With so many colors and styles to choose from I have already found myself overwhelmed by the quality and sometimes wonder if I am in fact dreaming. I like to pinch myself just to be sure, and sure enough it’s all quite real. The Plastik has without a doubt done the impossible-they have created the perfect male skin.

Now, you might be wondering, “Are they really as good as you say? How can you be sure?”, and to that I can say with absolute honesty that I have seen every offering of male skins out there to date and never before has there been something this well crafted. Most of the grid’s offerings for males give you heavily photo-sampled movie stars or super-models, sometimes even going as far as male pornstars, flaunting taped on genitals the likes of which have never been desired or overdone muscles bulging out of every crevice. Some are hairy, some are bald, but most have the worst stubble I have ever seen.

Bodyshot BoardCinder

The Vaelian skins highlight the mostly untouched softness of males, offering grace while still giving you that rugged edge. These skins are perfect for every activity you can imagine in SL and then some, with the exception of being a furry being of sorts. If you’re feeling like a vampire, try the ‘Angel’ shade. If you’re feeling like a red hot demon, why not try out the ‘Red Hot’ shade. Want to impress the ladies with your deep tan? Pull on ‘Rust’ and show off that bronzed body. The possibilities are endless my friends, so why not explore a new shade of yourself through the Plastik’s Vaelian collection?

Astrid – Review

•November 13, 2009 • 1 Comment

Space, the final frontier. Sci-fi themed clothing, the jump to lightspeed. In this review we take a look at the amazingly stylish and innovative ‘Astrid’ Jackets!

One can never be too stylish especially when in space and today we will go over the reasons why, and why you should wear Astrid while fighting off inter-galactic threats and saving mankind (or your respective kind) from certain doom! Enter deep space. You are a rogue agent who is poised to take control of a highly desired space-hub. You must be quick and stealthy, and to do that you will need to be fitted in the most flexible and aesthetically pleasing garb possible. You will find no better than the Plastik’s ‘Astrid’ jackets for women. Suited for subterfuge or direct combat scenarios, Astrid is designed to make you feel prepared for whatever comes your way, be it giant hulking insectoid aliens or lizard-men from the planet Knorrak, it is the perfect addition to any space-faring woman’s outfit.

Astrid Promo

The design itself is without a doubt a unique one and does not disappoint in any way. The high-collared short jacket brings out a sense of adventure in us, a feeling that is often missed by so many. It inspires us to explore the vastness of space and leave our shells, to go where no woman has gone before. It is tightly fitted to the flesh, showing off all the necessary skin so as to distract your male counterparts while leaving that shear mystery for those that would gaze upon your otherworldly beauty. The front features stylish floating straps that scream, “I’m here boys and I’m armed!”, wrapping around to the back where your designated ID is printed. The sleeves are medium length, designed to keep the fabric out of the way when you’re ready to fire.

The highlight of this design has to be, in my opinion, the collar and fabric design. The collar is carefully hand-sculpted, with the perfect amount of curves to give your eyeballs orgasms. The fabric itself is perfect down to every minute detail, showing vast realism in a world that is still truly lacking such things. Astrid is without a doubt the perfect piece to your sci-fi collection and no collection is complete without it. It comes in an array of colors and is priced for any buyer.

Astrid is perfect for the above tasks as well as other non sci-fi themes as well. The jacket compliments jeans, slacks, minis, and tights and can be used for just about any theme out there (besides medieval fantasy or Victorian goth).

This jacket is the affordable addition to you, so make it a part of everything you are today! Suit up, soldier!

Bordello Dresses – Review

•November 12, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Cue the lights, pull back the curtains and prepare yourself for this bedazzling review of yet another Plastik masterpiece!

The Bordello Dresses are in my opinion one of the best examples of the talent that goes into making clothing in Second Life. Aikea Rieko provides us this time with a highly detailed and stunning new take on the micro-dress as it were. It highlights the best in feminine features while at the same time not trying to be too revealing. The combinations of colors and patterns make these dresses some of the most beautiful works of art on the web today and while they may look expensive they are actually quite affordable. These dresses come in an array of colors and designs and can be purchased separately or in a fat-pack for a modest price.

Bordello_Promo

The main highlight of these dresses can be seen in the utilization of various patterns and styles while keeping each one set in it’s ways. It features a high cut bottom which comes up to the thigh area and shows just enough skin to be enticing. The design in the breast area perfectly mixes with the “pushed up” bra effect and can be seen in all it’s glory here. Each dress also features thin black straps that wrap over the shoulders and keep the design simple while still very elegant and sexy.

This product is the perfect addition to jeans as well as worn by itself or with stockings/pantyhose. It’s just the thing for an evening out at the club or a sensual candle-lit dinner for two. Alternatively if added to pants it can serve as a stylish casual ensemble for every day tasks such as chilling with your friends for cocktails or hosting a barbeque.

Overall, the Bordello Dresses are one of the most versatile and stylish additions to the Plastik’s inventory to date and are available for purchase at the shop located at:
